"The Covert's Moose Lodge"Welcome to The Covert's Moose Lodge. Mike and Terry Covert are the proud owners of this fine establishment. The land had been in the Covert family name since 1960. The original structure located where Covert's Moose Lodge now stands was originally a hunting cabin, built in the 40's in New Jersey, dismantled and reassembled here in the 70's. It was torn down to make way for the new lodge in 2001.

The Covert's Moose Lodge was completed in June 2002. It is two stories tall and has 22 foot ceilings in the living room, with an antlered chandelier, gas fireplace and of course, a large Montana Moose Head (taken in 1953).

The lodge was designed by Mike Covert. It is a natural wood design with over 13,000 ft of tongue and grooved pine on its walls and hosts all of the modern amenities. It has a side covered porch with gas grill and soda machine and a front deck that has tables with chairs for setting and relaxing. The front deck overlooks a meadow with large pond.

Mike is an avid bird hunter and has traveled throughout the United States and Canada, hunting and staying in various places as he went. The lodge was a concept that he and Terry designed by taking all of their good experiences and combining them into one ideal place to stay.

Covert's Moose Lodge was created with families and hunters in mind. It is located on the end of a quiet road in a tranquil valley consisting of open meadows, hills, and a large pond.

Relax in front of the gas fireplace or sit out on the deck and enjoy the view of the hills, pond, and wildlife.

The floor plan is open and roomy. The large floor to ceiling windows offer lots of natural light. Hardwood floors in the main living areas. Wall-to-wall carpet in all sleeping areas. Walls are natural pine.

Located in the Hartwick area of Otsego County, it is only 9 miles from the Village of Cooperstown and 18 miles from the City of Oneonta.

Over 5,000 acres of State lands are available for hunting, fishing, cross-country skiing, snow mobiling, and hiking just minutes from Covert's Moose Lodge. Otsego Lake, Canadarago Lake, Goodyear Lake, and Susquehanna River are all nearby.

Covert's Moose Lodge can provide you with vacation packages geared with the hunter/ fisherman in mind.

Otsego County hosts abundant wildlife within the Central New York region. It supports many different game species for hunting and fishing. There are thousands of acres of State Land that are available for hunting, along with numerous lakes and streams for fishing.

Fishing
Trout, perch, land locked salmon, blue gills, Lake Trout, large mouth and small mouth bass and walleye are just a few of the fish available in this region.

Hunting
Both large and small game animals are available in this region for hunting. White tail deer, turkey, grouse, woodcock, pheasant, ducks, geese, squirrels are just some of the game in the Central New York area.
